Stephen Colbert for President - sort of
Written by Michael Vass
I’ve mentioned that I would present an unbiased view of all the Presidential candidates. I said I would attempt to provide as much information and resources as possible to allow every American citizen the means to decide who has the best plan and outlook for America after the election in November 2008. And I have tried to live up to that commitment.
Then came Stephen Colbert.
I am somewhat at a loss on how to cover this. Is it too light to be taken seriously? Is there nothing more than satire? Is there a benefit that exceeds the obvious parody?
I thought about it, and the fact is that far too many Americans garner some aspect of their political news from the work of Mr. Colbert and Mr. Jon Stewart. Thus I will cover Mr. Colbert, and his bid to be on the South Carolina ballot.
To that end I present his interview on Meet The Press, with Tim Russert. Take from this what you will. And if you pay attention to it, I think you will see that there is a statement being made. It’s not partisan, but it is political. And perhaps that will help in making your choice of who should win the primaries, and who ultimately wins the Presidency.
And I hope he does get his single delegate, at least and he likely will get more than one, at the South Carolina Democratic and Republican primaries.
[The video is only available in 2 part, as I have been able to find it, and so will be shown as such.]

Colbert for President! I love the guy and even though he’s wacky and wierd, he’d be better than any of the other candidates.
